Environmental Scan 2010
The Service Industries Environmental Scan is developed to provide an industry specific overview of trends and developments in the service industries.
It has been developed in partnership with industry and reflects the key issues identified by each sector.
Building upon the outcomes from the 2009 Scan, the 2010 document:
- promotes the need for recognition of the significant contribution the service industries make tothe Australian economy - both economic and social
- recognises that workforce development in the service industries needs to be based on an informed understanding of what makes the industries productive, and what makes them grow and evolve
- provides an overview of how sustainability skills are addressed in the service industries
- advocates for skills development that ensures the right skills are being developed for the job outcome and strongly reinforces the position of the 2009 scan.
