Tourism, Hospitality and Events Training Package update
The Training Package team attended the Tourism and Travel Workforce Development forums held in Melbourne and Brisbane earlier in the month. Some of the training-related comments raised included a call for:
- Greater collaboration between educators and industry
- Well-structured, practical placements for students
- Stronger focus on leadership, business and innovation skills
These and many other topics were also discussed at the QTIC Trainers Conference, held in Brisbane. The QTIC conference also included dialogue on:
- The role of leadership, core-values and passion in learning and development
- The role of technology in training
- The importance of customer service and providing a unique experience in building the customer-base
Service Skills Australia will be exploring these areas further, identifying how the Training Package and our other training products (e.g. User Guide) can best support the industry and educators within the industry.
